With this, my 75th sketch, I am introducing 2 new features!

First, the dimensions of each piece of paper are included. Yes, I listened to my fans, and the fans of other sketches that included this!

Second, this sketch is now available as a downloadable template for digital scrapbookers. Each sketch will have 2 download links, one for each side of the sketch. The links will be available in between the sketch and the layout example. They are free for a limited time, so get them while you can!

This 11 photo sketch gives you lots of room for a long or large title, but the main focus is your photos. Turn your head sideways and look at each side… left for the left side, right for the right. The sketch would work turned that way, also!

This 11 photo sketch allows not just for lots of photos, but for a variety of patterned papers, too. The blocky collage style is softened by the addition of the circles. Embellishments could work just as well in place of the circles.

The layout uses only 3 patterns and 2 solids. Instead of journaling, the title is carried across the page on the circles.

I’m a day late with the new sketch, but I think was worth the wait. Let me know if you agree (or not!).
Another circle-iscious layout! This 10 photo layout is fairly easy, if you don’t get too caught up in the exact placement of the embellishments and flourishes (easier said than done, for me!). The sketch was inspired by a layout done by my friend Robin S. (aka “The Queen of Doo-dahs”).

Here’s Robin’s layout. She used more than 5 patterned papers, but since the set was double-sided, she was able to get the most bang-for-her buck based on how she used them. Popping some of the circles up is an important part of the design.

But wait, there’s more! You will notice that the right side of the Robin’s layout really differs somewhat from the sketch. That’s because the sketch is created from already-created layouts, and the right side is from my scraplift of Robin’s layout. The papers are the same, the general idea is the same, but you can see how I made it my own. Notice I didn’t use as many little circles, and my flourishes are different… and that’s okay!

After creating the layout above, I was working in a different album, and decided to use the sketch again (yes, I use & re-use my own sketches!) Even fewer little circles, but it all still works. (Just a note, I discovered the fun of making my own patterned paper on this layout, as I needed another pattern. So I foam stamped the yellow cardstock and voila!)

With this 7 photo sketch, you could easily replace the focal photo on the left page with a larger photo.

The layout uses 11 photos by grouping three 2×4 photos in each of the spaces designated for a 4×6 photo on the right page. Turning those photos black & white added some visual interest, but was done mainly because the photos weren’t very good quality and b&w is more forgiving. The 6 patterns and 1 solid are from the BoBunny “It’s My Party” collection, as are the embellishments. To save paper, I cut out from behind the large red square and used the flip-side for the large square on the left.

This sketch gets alot of pictures onto your layout, without sacrificing on size very much. Most of the photos on this sketch are 4×3, which is exactly half of a 4×6. In a photo program, you can put two 4×6 pictures onto one canvas, save and print it as a regular 4×6 print either at home or at your favorite developer. Or, you can intentionally not zoom in on your shot, to make cropping the photos easier.

All of the photos in this layout were originally 4×6 size, cropped down to fit. The focal photo is the only full-size photo on the layout, which gives it even more impact.

This sketch gives you the opportunity to have fun with papers and embellishments, and yet have room for plenty of photos (11!). The double-matted focal photo is an important element, as it helps balance the busyness of the right side. A 5×7 photo would work just the same.

The layout that this sketch is based on uses only 9 photos, because I used more and larger embellishments, and included journaling.

This 12 photo sketch is perfect for those times when you need to get a bunch of photos onto one layout, without sacrificing too much size. The photo block on the right side could easily be a single, larger photo, if you wanted it to be. Or the photo strip at the bottom left could be smaller, thinner photos. Don’t be afraid to play around with this!

This layout is 11 photos, because I chose to use an embellishment in place of one of the photos. There are 4 patterns and 4 solids used here.

This 11 photo sketch was inspired by scraps! Yep, scraps. I was given some scraps by my friend Christine, and decided they were enough for a layout, just as they are. All I had to do was figure out the arrangement… and here you are! The half circle on the right side of the layout is actually cut out of the larger piece of paper, but you don’t have to do it like that if you don’t want to.

The layout is different from the sketch in that I only used 8 photos. Using fewer photos allowed me to have a larger title, to include the cute crab embellishment (I couldn’t resist, even though I haven’t used a die cut in years!) and to include more journaling (part of the Sea Lion brochure). I used 3 patterns and 3 solids.

This 11 photo sketch uses my favorite 3 inch circles, but you could easily make them squares, if you prefer. It also makes use of barely cropped or not-cropped-at-all photos for the most part. And don’t forget that if you don’t want to use a 5×7, you can put a heavily matted 4×6 in that space.

The sketch was inspired by this layout by Robin S. She used 3 patterns and 2 solids.

This 11 photo sketch was created from a layout by my friend Robin S. I love how she got so many photos on here, and yet only 3 of them are severely cropped!

This first example is the layout the sketch was created from. She is the embellishment queen, in case you can’t tell! There are 4 patterns and 4 solids on this layout.

The second layout is my own version of Robin’s layout. Yep, even the pictures are the same, because they are of us and our husbands, from when we spent a day on the lake together. I really like being able to show you another take on the sketch, using the same set of pictures. I only used 9 pictures, moved the title, and added some journaling. There are 6 patterns and 2 solids.
