Sketch 22

Time for another big circle sketch! The circle in this sketch is 12 inches wide, though of course you can make yours smaller or bigger.

For the 1st example, I followed the sketch pretty closely (adding 1 picture, but making the circle and embellishment). I used 4 patterns and 4 solids.

For the 2nd example, I changed things up a little.  My photos didn’t work for the sketch’s layout, so I did my own thing, though the layout of the papers are the same. This example uses 6 photos, 5 patterns, and 1 solid.

Sketch 18

This 5 photo sketch leaves lots of room for embellishments, or even more photos.

In this example, I used more large words as my embellishments.  There are 4 patterns and 3 solids.

Sketch 15

This 11 photo sketch is especially for all you circle-lovers out there.  And if you don’t love circles so much, you could easily replace the circle pictures with squares.

Credit for this sketch goes to my friend, Robin S., who created the original layout, shown here.  She has been such an inspiration to me… I want to scrap like her when I grow up :)

Sketch 11

This 8 photo sketch has my favorite big circle component, but used in a different way.  The large focal picture on the left side is intended to balance the big circle.

In the example you can see that I used 3 photos bumped against each other in place of the 1 large photo, but with the same visual effect.  For this layout, I used 5 patterns and 2 solids.

Sketch 7

Sketches using multiple, uncropped 4×6 photos are not common, and yet how many of us zoom in when taking a picture, to the point where we don’t want to crop our pictures?  Sound familiar?  Then this is a sketch just for you!

In the example, I did crop the photos, and probably could’ve added more because of that.  I used 3 patterned papers and 2 solids.

Sketch 5

This 7 photo sketch incorporates the big circles that I love.

The example only uses 6 photos, and you’ll notice that they are arranged a little differently.  The bottom left photo is a panoramic, instead of 2 separate photos.  The top right photos are 3 instead of 2. And the square photo on the right is replaced by a large embellishment.  There are 3 patterns and 3 solids used here.

Sketch 3

Yep, circles!  Love, love, love them!  I use anything I can find to create them… plates, Tupperware lids, bowls.  Most often, though, I use a compass, and occasionally the Creative Memories Circle Cutter (though it usually doesn’t make circles big enough for what I want.)

In this 5 photo sketch, the various sizes of the circles pull your eyes across the page.  This layout example uses 3 patterned papers and 3 solids, but you could use less, or more.Webdsc00123

The 2nd layout uses 4 patterns and 3 solids, but only 4 photos.

Sketch 2

Big circles are one of my favorite design elements.  I just love them!  So much that I have to make myself stop using them sometimes!

This 11 photo sketch became 10 photos for the example, in which I used 5 patterned papers and 3 colors of cardstock.

The 2nd example doesn’t have as many photos (only 8), but you still get the look. Because of the strength of the pattern used, it is the only pattern, mixed with 3 solids.
